Russell Frederick is a Brooklyn-born, self-taught photographer of Afro-Panamanian heritage.

For over 25 years, he has documented the African diaspora, with a focus on Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn—a long-term project capturing the beauty, complexity, and transformation of the neighborhood. His work explores themes of identity, community, and legacy, using photography as a tool for both cultural preservation and social commentary.
